The duration of the UK Commonwealth Scholarship for PhD students is 3 years.

Commonwealth PhD Scholarships in UK 2024-25 Benefits:

• It is a globally wide scholarship program that covers a number of development themes.
• It provides full financial aid to those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK.
• It provides approved airfare from home country to UK and then UK to home city after award.
• It provides approved tuition fees and a monthly stipend of £1,347, or £1,652.
• It facilitates students with warm clothing allowance if required.
• It provides study travel grants to students within or outside the UK.
• It provides a paid mid-term visit to the home country, family allowances, and a spousal allowance of £290 per month (if there are no children).
• If a child and a spouse accompany a candidate, it provides a spouse allowance of £290 and a child allowance of £143 per month.
• If the candidate is accompanied by children but not by a spouse, an allowance of £576.61 per month is paid for the first child. A monthly allowance of £143 per month is paid for the second and third child.

Commonwealth PhD Scholarships 2024-25 Eligibility Criteria:

• An applicant must be a native or refugee of an eligible Commonwealth country.
• An applicant must be a permanent resident of eligible Commonwealth countries.
• An applicant must be available to study in the UK by the start of the UK academic calendar, i.e. September 2024.
• A candidate must have a first degree of at least upper honors standard, or a second class degree and a master’s degree by September 2024. CSC does not fund such degrees.
• Candidate should not be registered for MPhil or Ph.D. Degree at a UK university or another local university before September/October 2024.
• An applicant must provide evidence that they cannot otherwise afford to study in the UK.
• An applicant must have provided all the necessary documents in the required format.
• If a candidate is declared disabled, additional financial assistance will be provided after thorough evaluation.
